Looking for a loyal best friend who’s equal parts hiking buddy and cuddle bug? Meet Nuna, a 7-year-old, 60-pound sweetheart who will happily twirl for treats and curl up by your side when the thunder rolls.

Nuna is the perfect mix of playful and relaxed. She enjoys walks, car rides (she hops in and settles right down!), and learning tricks — she already knows sit, shake, place, lay down, and even twirl. After a little activity, she’s content to snooze for hours, making her a great match for almost any lifestyle.

She’s friendly with dogs big and small, respectful of their body language, and has even won over a notoriously picky senior pup in her foster home. Cats pique her interest, but she may have lived with them before. Kids? She’s gentle and kind, though she’s more of a “bond with my people” type than a social butterfly in big crowds.

Nuna can be a little timid at first and doesn’t always shine at adoption events, but in a home she warms up quickly. She may even surprise you — when a storm rolled through recently, she hopped right into bed and cuddled close until it passed.

Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
