My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet LEXIE, a 1.5 - 2 year old, 45 pound mixed bully breed pup with a heart as big as her ears! This bundle of joy is not just looking for a home; she's looking for a family to share her boundless energy, joy, and sweetness with. If you're searching for a loyal companion who will fill your days with joy and your heart with unconditional love, Lexie is ready to meet you and embark on your next adventure together!

Despite being deaf, Lexie has mastered the art of love and companionship, communicating her endless affection through expressive eyes and a wagging tail that never seems to tire. Lexie is exceptionally clever, having already learned basic commands through sign language, and she's eager to continue impressing her new family with her quick learning and playful spirit. When relaxing, Lexie enjoys chewing on a Nylabone or peanut butter Kong next to her person.

Lexie socializes very well with other dogs and loves to play with large dogs; she goes to play group once a week where her best friend is a deaf Pit Bull mix. Lexie would benefit from additional training and opportunity to go for jogs/runs. She definitely needs a fenced yard that she can run around in and play as well as going for walks. Lexie likes kids a lot and still acts puppyish - so she's approved for kids over 8 years old who she won't knock down due to her enthusiasm. She is crate trained, house trained and walks well on a leash.

This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, tested for diseases, provided inoculations, been dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available from acaringplace@comcast.net.

More about this rescue

A Caring Place, is an All Breed Dog Rescue organization that is exclusively foster based (no facility) and is volunteer run. We rescue dogs and puppies from animal control facilities, dog pounds, and other shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia. In addition we take in dogs surrendered by their owners who can or are no longer willing to care for their dog. Each dog this rescue takes in receives all medical care and treatment necessary to be healthy, and then place them into loving temporary homes (foster homes) until adopted. Without our foster care provider's, we could not save these dogs.

FOSTER CARE PROVIDERS are always needed!
