For The Cats' Sake
BIRCH was rescued from a campground at Shenandoah National Park, where the park staff fed him until the onset of winter closure. They reached out to us as they couldn't leave him alone, and he's really warmed up to people. Now he is a playful and affectionate cat, who has mad moments and zooms around in a fluffy blur! BIRCH would ideally love to be an inside/outside pet. As he's still a little nervous at times, he'd be better in a home without small children, and he just needs a home to be his spunky self, he has a lot of kitten in him still, but we estimate he's around 5 years old.

We do not have a fixed adoption fee at For The Cats' Sake, but instead ask for a tax-deductible donation to our group. On average, we spend over $250 to cover spay and neutering, testing for FeLV and FIV, vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming and any vet care/medicine that is needed. We ask for a minimum donation of $80 per cat, and that adopters pay more if they are able to. Our goal is to find the best home for each animal, and we feel this policy makes it possible for more people to adopt one or more cats. It is important to us that every adopter can afford to care for their pets properly and give them a home for life.
