My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Baby Girl! She absolutely loves people and getting attention! She does need help around other dogs in the home due to her anxiety. She gets overexcited and tends to overwhelm any other dog that is near her. She needs a family who is willing to work with these things and get her to a much calmer state of mind. She would do best as a single dog or in a home with a dog her size or bigger due to her prey drive. She requires a meet and greet with any other dog in the home and would need slow introductions since she comes on very strong upon first impressions. She is honestly the sweetest dog but needs love and a family who is willing to see her amazing potential.

More about this shelter

Our shelter had it's beginnings in the mid 90's and formally became a nonprofit organization in 2001. The dream of Lee and Sophia DiClemente has grown to be the largest no-kill animal shelter in New Mexico. Lee passed in 2010, but Sophia carries on with the support of a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and numerous donors - large and small.
