My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tyson!

This sweet old man is looking for a gentle and loving home where he can spend his days relaxing and getting lots of snuggles. Despite his age, Tyson still enjoys going on walks and playing with his four legged friends. Tyson came to us with a skin condition that had been untreated for quite some time, leading to secondary skin infections as well as hair loss, he has been undergoing treatment and has started to regrow his hair but he will need continued treatment with antifungal baths, a sensitive skin and stomach diet, and continuous care with a veterinarian.

More about this shelter

Our shelter had it's beginnings in the mid 90's and formally became a nonprofit organization in 2001. The dream of Lee and Sophia DiClemente has grown to be the largest no-kill animal shelter in New Mexico. Lee passed in 2010, but Sophia carries on with the support of a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and numerous donors - large and small.
