My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brothers ChiChi Junior and Puppy Chulo found themselves at the  shelter when their person passed away. With all those changes, it is understandable why they didn't do  well in the shelter, but they reverted right into being fun, happy dogs in foster care. They are about 4.5 years old and 17 pounds each.

They are both very friendly with people, other dogs, cats and kids. They have a toddler foster sister that sometimes becomes too much for them, but they just go to their safe place, their crate, where she knows she has to leave them alone. They love to run and play together and they sleep together in their crate, but really love to sleep under the covers in bed. They are barkers, but listen when you tell them to stop. They are potty trained and leashed trained. They are picky eaters, especially Puppy Chulo, the one with the white muzzle. They love car rides, trips to the pet store, meeting people, camping trips, participating in dog races, in fact - you name it and these brothers are probably game to try it out.

If you are looking for a fun pair to give you lots of entertainment, these could be your boys!

Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for ChiChi Junior and Puppy Chulo is $500.

Additional adoption info

The Grateful Dogs Rescue adoption procedure is designed to find a good match between the dog and adopter. Our goal is a happy foster to forever transition. The adoption procedure includes an application, interview, home check, and an adoption donation. The adoption donation helps to cover spay/neuter, shots and other medical care given before the dog is made available for adoption.

More about this rescue

Grateful Dogs Rescue was founded in 1990; its mission is to rescue dogs not made available for adoption at San Francisco Animal Care and Control, and other local shelters, through no fault of their own. Rather than letting these dogs be euthanized, Grateful Dogs saves as many as possible by fostering these dogs in a loving home until a forever loving home is found.

Grateful Dogs Rescue is always in need of new foster homes!  You can make a difference by fostering. The number of dogs we can save is dependent on having foster parents to care for them until they find their forever homes. All of our dogs are in foster care.
