My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lady’s current owners were fiercely in love with Lady’s dam “Lady of the High Meadow” and bred her with high hopes of riding her offspring some day.

This "True Lady" was born on April 20, 2010, and after four years of being doted on, Lady was sent to professional training with Filippa Boughton of Colebroke Farm in Maryland. When she returned home to Virginia she was ridden for awhile, but unfortunately her owner was diagnosed with health issues that prevented her from continuing to ride.

Today, Lady is a sweet mare with a personality as big as her 16.2hh Thoroughbred frame. She loves to be pampered and showered with treats, and even though she is a big mare, she can be delicate and kind when receiving the attention she deserves from her person.

Lady contracted and immediately went through treatment for EPM in 2021. Her owners were diligent about her symptoms and care with their veterinary team. According to her owners, she has never relapsed and she appeared to be very healthy at her assessment. However, due to the uncertain nature of EPM, its recurrences and long term-effects, Lady should remain a companion-only horse for her safety and her next person’s safety.

Lady’s Details:
Age: 16yo
Height: 16.2 hh
Type: Registered Thoroughbred (JC Name: True Lady)
Suitability: Companion only.

Courtesy Listing - This equine is currently being cared for by her owner in Greenville, VA but needs to be rehomed. Her current owner needs to downsize for health reasons and is moving to Florida. They sadly cannot bring their horses with them.

If you are interested in rehoming Lady and giving her a safe forever home, please use the "Apply to Adopt" button above to fill out an Interest Form and we will connect you with her owner. Thank you!
