My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Mickey is a handsome boy who is looking for a new home. Mickey is currently with one of our sister rescues in Louisiana and will be making his way to NJ on 1/10.

Meet sweet Mickey a.k.a. Mr. Mick! Mickey is a 24 pound sweetheart who LOVES attention. He loves nothing more than to snuggle next to you or in your lap. He is a perfect office dog who lays on the couch while we work. His favorite toys are a rubber donut that bounces and he gets to chase it (he LOVES to play chase with other dogs as well) and a nylabone toy for him to chew on. This awesome little boy has a playful personality and a knack for finding socks and soft blankets - he thinks they make great chew toys! With a little guidance and plenty of chew toys he will happily redirect his energy. Mickey is house and kennel trained. Mickey loves to play with other dogs and is good with older children (his enthusiasm can sometimes be a bit much for very small children). Mickey is very food motivated and is easy to train/correct.

Mickey is also known as "lover boy!"

Mickey is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. He completed treatment for heartworm. His adoption fee is $450.

Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.

Additional adoption info

We require an application. After reviewing the application, your home sounds suitable for the personality of the animal you are looking for, then a home check and a meeting is set up. For our rescue animals an adoption donation is required. All our rescue animals are up to date on shots, heartworm tested or on preventative, dewormed frontlined and have a microchip.

More about this rescue

Wag On Inn Rescue, A NJ recognized 501(C)3 organization, located in Freehold, NJ, is a small group of dedicated volunteers, trying to rehome dogs and cats. We have a variety of animals looking for their forever home. The animals are worked with individually to be socialized with other animals and with people. Some of the dogs are obedience trained and housebroken. Special care is also taken in working with animals on basic house manners. We have two types of ways we help the animals. One is our rescue program, where we pull animals from shelters and they stay with us until adopted, we also have a "referal program" where we help owners of pets try to find them new homes. with this program, the pets stay with their owners until a new home is found, and adopted from the owner.
