My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

wagoninn.rescuegroups.org

Spade is a gorgeous Boxer Pittie mix who needs a new home without other dogs.  Spade is about 1.5 years old. He is a friendly, happy, wiggly-butt with people and plays with the other 3 dogs in his current home when outside.

He meets some new dogs on a leash very well, but can be reactive to others.  He is housebroken and good in the car, and loves his squeaky toys!  Spade is a big lap dog and LOVES to sleep under a blanket.  He is good with children, but because he can get excited when meeting would be best with bigger kids.  He loves to play in water outside! Spade can be left alone without being crated with no issues.  He has no experience with indoor cats.  Spade is neutered and UTD on all vaccines. Spade does have some anxiety which is being managed with Prozac.

He will make a fun and great companion to a family with no other pets.  A fenced in yard would be appreciated.

Spade is available for foster or adoption, or foster-to-adopt.

* adoption fee: $450.00.

Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc  Pet care is not cheap or easy, and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption.  After all that these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving committed home.

Additional adoption info

We require an application. After reviewing the application, your home sounds suitable for the personality of the animal you are looking for, then a home check and a meeting is set up. For our rescue animals an adoption donation is required. All our rescue animals are up to date on shots, heartworm tested or on preventative, dewormed frontlined and have a microchip.

More about this rescue

Wag On Inn Rescue, A NJ recognized 501(C)3 organization, located in Freehold, NJ, is a small group of dedicated volunteers, trying to rehome dogs and cats. We have a variety of animals looking for their forever home. The animals are worked with individually to be socialized with other animals and with people. Some of the dogs are obedience trained and housebroken. Special care is also taken in working with animals on basic house manners. We have two types of ways we help the animals. One is our rescue program, where we pull animals from shelters and they stay with us until adopted, we also have a "referal program" where we help owners of pets try to find them new homes. with this program, the pets stay with their owners until a new home is found, and adopted from the owner.
