My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Mila, a 2 year old female German Shepherd mix, who was pulled from the Houston pound about 6 months ago to be trained as a service dog. The owner’s circumstances changed soon after, and a Good Samaritan took her in. She loves people. Very attentive and sweet. She is high energy so requires an active lifestyle, and likely should be around older kids. Mila loves hugs but can be a bit much for small humans! She’s pretty darned good on leash and very treat motivated!! She socializes well with other dogs, but prefers submissive or calm playmates. She doesn’t show any signs of destructive behavior and loves following rules. If a human is paying attention to her, Mila is all ears. She’s a sweet couch cuddle bug. Can you help us find this sweet girl a forever home?? If you or someone you know is interested, send us an email at info@scoutshonor.org and we will connect you with her foster!

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Scout's Honor Rescue does not currently have its own facility to keep the animals in its adoption program. All animals in our program are fostered by individuals who keep the dog or cat at their residence until it is adopted. Consider opening your home to a dog or cat in need. You become the caregiver to a precious animal – their future is in your hands! It is incredibly rewarding to know that you have given that animal the two most precious gifts- Life and Love. For many of them, this is the first kind hand they have known.
