Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Whimsey
About 8 months old
17 pounds
Female
Mixed breed
Hi my name is Whimsey and I am such a loving and sweet girl. I am fostered with another rescue, 3 resident older dogs and 2 resident older cats. I love everyone and am always checking to make sure my foster moms and foster sisters are healthy and happy. I have not met kids yet, but my foster moms are sure that I will be great with them. I am always happy to meet new people but can be a little nervous at first. After a few minutes I warm up and can’t wait to get pets and be held.
I love playing and cuddling with dogs of all sizes and am a submissive girl, so I take direction well. I like play fighting with my 50lb and 70lb foster sisters, but would much rather cuddle with them and take a nap! I do get startled by my foster sister’s loud bark sometimes, but still love playing with her. My oldest foster sister isn’t much of a player any more, but I am good at respecting her boundaries. I am scared of my foster moms’ cats and will hide if I hear their collars. I would do well in a house with other dogs, but no cats.
I just want to be loved and love all those around me! I like playing but would much rather be sitting on the couch with my foster moms or following them around the house. If my foster sisters or moms are sad or don’t feel well, I check on them to make sure that they are ok. I also am really good with my younger foster sister. I have been trying to teach her how to be a good pup and I double check that she is ok after baths.
I love toys, but especially like rope toys and bones. I am a super smart girl and already know how to indicate at the front door that I need to use the bathroom. I’m really good with house training and know how to use potty pads as well.
I sleep in a crate at night. I need some work on going into the crate on my own, but once I am inside with my crate cover on, I quiet down and fall asleep pretty quick. I happily sleep through the night and give the best butt wiggles when my foster moms wake me up in the morning.
If you are looking for a cuddly, loving pup to relax and enjoy life with, please contact Safe Haven about me! I can’t wait to meet you!
Our standard adoption fee is $375 if paid by cash or check, or $385 if paid by credit card (which includes a $10 processing fee). This fee covers spay/neuter surgery when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative, and microchipping.
In order to be considered for adoption, we require a fully completed application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with your entire family. Please note that submitting an application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee approval—it simply allows us to begin the review process.
If you are interested in adopting or would like additional information, please email us at adopt@safehavendogsIL.org to request an application.
Keep in mind that the breed and size listed in each dog's biography are our best educated guesses and are not guaranteed.
Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse the adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant for any reason.
