Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Dot!
About 4 months old
15 pounds
Female
Mixed breed
Hi, my name is Dot or Dotty as my foster moms call me and I am the cuddliest of puppies! I am fostered with another rescue, 3 resident older dogs and 2 resident older cats. I love everyone and just want to be picked up and held so much! I have not met kids yet, but my foster moms are sure that I will be great with them. I am always so excited to meet new people and just want to give them all the kisses I can. I love playing and cuddling with dogs of all sizes and am a submissive girl, so I take direction well. I love play fighting with my 50lb and 70lb foster sisters so much! They let me join in on tug of war and house patrol like I am part of the pack. My oldest foster sister isn’t much of a player anymore, but I am good at respecting her boundaries. I am interested in cats, but my foster mom’s cats aren’t interested in me. The times I have seen them, I have wanted to play, so my foster mom’s think I might do well with more social cats.
I am super playful and happy! I can typically be found cuddling with my foster sister or foster moms when I am not playing. My foster moms also call me their little duck since I like to follow them around all over the house. I do cry when they are out of my site, but not too much. I love playing with squeaky toys and love chewing on bones since I am teething. I am a quick learner and am already starting to understand “no” and “sit”.
I am working on house training and have started whining to indicate that I need to go outside. I am not great at potty pads though, since I would much rather use the bathroom in the grass.
I sleep in a crate at night. Typically, it takes me a little bit to fall asleep and sometimes I will cry, but once asleep, I’m good the whole night. I do still have a small bladder since I’m a puppy, so as soon as I wake up I need to go outside for the bathroom. My foster moms say I am a rock star in the car! I usually fall asleep right away and don’t cry at all on trips.
If you are looking for a cuddly, playful puppy to go on adventures with, please contact Safe Haven about me! I can’t wait to meet you!
Our standard adoption fee is $375 if paid by cash or check, or $385 if paid by credit card (which includes a $10 processing fee). This fee covers spay/neuter surgery when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative, and microchipping.
In order to be considered for adoption, we require a fully completed application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with your entire family. Please note that submitting an application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee approval—it simply allows us to begin the review process.
If you are interested in adopting or would like additional information, please email us at adopt@safehavendogsIL.org to request an application.
Keep in mind that the breed and size listed in each dog's biography are our best educated guesses and are not guaranteed.
Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse the adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant for any reason.
