Remember West Coast? This strikingly handsome black and white boy was once on the euthanasia list at a crowded Atlanta shelter, his future uncertain. But back in May, we saw the gentle soul behind the frightened kennel exterior and pulled him to safety. After months of love, stability, and decompression in a dedicated foster home, West Coast's true, wonderful personality has blossomed!
West Coast has left his past behind and is now a happy, healthy, and incredibly loving companion who is more than ready to find his forever family.
Meet the REAL West Coast:
Age: 5 years old
Breed: Pitbull mix (a.k.a. 60 lbs of pure love and cuddles)
Personality: West Coast is the definition of a "velvet hippo." He is a goofy, affectionate, and profoundly loyal dog. His favorite activities include snuggling on the couch (he’s convinced he’s a lap dog), giving the sweetest kisses, and wiggling his entire body with joy when his people come home.
House Manners: He is a perfect gentleman in the home! West Coast is fully house-trained and crate-trained. He sleeps soundly through the night, knows his basic commands like "sit" and "stay," and is very treat-motivated, making him a fun and eager student.
Energy Level: He has a fantastic "on/off" switch. He's always up for a good walk or a game of fetch in the yard, but he’s equally content to be a world-class nap champion by your side.
Social Skills: (You can adjust this part based on what you've learned)
Option A (Good with dogs): "He has been living with other dogs in his foster home and, with a proper introduction, enjoys having a canine companion."
Option B (Prefers to be solo): "West Coast would love to be the king of his castle and the sole recipient of all your love and belly rubs. He prefers to be the only pet in the home."
Kids/Cats: "He hasn't been tested with cats. He has been wonderful with the respectful older children he has met."
West Coast's Ideal Forever Home:
West Coast is dreaming of a family who will appreciate his journey and cherish his unwavering affection. He would love a comfy spot on the couch, a steady supply of ear scratches, and a person or family to bond with forever. A home with a fenced-in yard for safe sunbathing and zoomies would be a huge plus! He promises to repay your kindness with a lifetime of loyalty and slobbery kisses.
His shelter days are over, but his story isn't complete until he crosses the threshold of his forever home. This incredible survivor has waited so long to feel truly home. Could it be with you?
