My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jerry Orion is a very loving, gentle and very chill 7-year-old boy. He is a healthy 80 pounds of solid muscle, with a hefty appetite, so he does need plenty of exercise to keep his perfect size. Every who sees him compliments his very handsome and soft coat. Jerry really enjoys jumping in the car for a car ride or to take a new adventure. He rides good in the car hanging his head out the window most of the time. He's not a fan of motorcycles so he does react to them with a short bark when he sees them. While exploring the parks and trails he walks nicely on the leash but does want to greet every person and dog he sees. He's very friendly with kids of all ages, adults and other dogs. He isn't much of a runner but will try to chase squirrels and other wild animals. And he likes some short dips in the water. When Jerry is at home, he's a perfect gentleman. He is completely housetrained, not one single accident in the house. He is happy laying around and looking out the windows. Occasionally, he enjoys getting up to play with some stuffed toys with his housemate. He is a minimal barker, and his foster dad has only heard a few short barks from him. He sleeps hard, usually on the couch or chair all through the night with little to no stirring……. but he does snore! He's not a fan of the crate but will go in with some encouragement. But with his house manners being so good the crate isn't used often. Jerry Orion would do great with any size family (kids, other dogs of any size) but he is not cat friendly. He tries to chase every cat he sees. A fenced yard is a must due to his curiosity of people and other animals. Jerry is now completely vetted, neutered, chipped and current on preventatives. Jerry Orion is located in the Myrtle Beach, SC area.

More about this rescue

We are a 501c3 non profit in South Carolina. PLP was started in 2015. We are a 100% foster based rescue where all dogs are placed in loving homes until a forever home is found. We pull dogs from high kill shelters in North and South Carolina whose time are up. Many of our dogs are heartworm positive, scared, defeated, and broken. Many are very sick. Each dog gets extensive vet care; all ailments taken care of, spayed or neutered, chipped, and are given all vaccines. They learn house manners and crate training while in their foster home along with how to walk on a leash and socialization skills.
Many are different dogs when they are adopted than when they came to us.
