My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, nice to meet you! Thank you for noticing a sweet beagle girl like me. I'm a darling pup who was recently rescued from an animal testing laboratory. Did you know that thousands of beagles-- innocent dogs just like me-- are used as test subjects in experimental research trials every year? Now that I'm safe with Beagle Freedom Project, I'm dreaming of finding a forever home! Little is known about my specific personality at this time, but the BFP Team believes that I'm a friendly dog who will do best in a home with another loving pup! I'll thrive with a patient and compassionate adopter who understands that I've never gotten to be a normal dog before, so I'll need lots of support as I navigate a big new world for the very first time! Could you be the family I've always hoped for?

My ideal home: An adult-only household (older kids are OK!) with another friendly dog.

My location: San Francisco, CA

*Please note that third-party sites like PetFinder or Adopt-a-Pet may sometimes list multiple locations for the same animal. My correct and current location is the one listed directly above!*

*Beagle Freedom Project facilitates out-of-state adoptions, provided the adopter is able to travel to the animal's current location for pickup.*

If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an adoption application at https://bfp.org/adopt/

Please email the Beagle Freedom Project Team with questions at: adopt@bfp.org.

Additional adoption info

ABOUT OUR ADOPTION PROCESS: Standardly, Beagle Freedom Project does not facilitate animal meet and greets. Instead, we begin all BFP adoptions with a trial-period; this is called ‘fostering-to-adopt’. At BFP, we believe that the best way for an adopter to be certain that an animal is their perfect match is by giving them an opportunity to truly know each other before finalizing an adoption. As BFP animals come from such traumatic pasts, they can often be shy upon a first meeting. Foster-to-adopt trials allow these special animals an opportunity to decompress and show their authentic personality before an official adoption decision is made.
