My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

💖 Meet Mya: A Sweet Soul Ready to Shine in Her Forever Home 💖

Meet Mya, a beautiful one-year-old girl with a heart full of love and so much happiness to share. She has been patiently waiting for her special person, and once you take the time to know her, her gentle, affectionate nature truly stands out. Mya is resilient, loving, and eager to form a deep bond with someone who will cherish her.

Mya is blind and deaf on one side of her face, but with a consistent routine and someone she trusts, she does wonderfully. She relies on familiarity, gentle guidance, and clear communication to feel confident—and when she does, her sweet personality shines. Once she feels secure, Mya is incredibly loyal and thrives on companionship and structure.

Mya is playful too! She loves playing fetch, tug-of-war, and exploring the yard at her own pace, sniffing and discovering everything around her. She enjoys simple joys and has a heart full of fun energy.

Mya’s Ideal Home:

Calm & Predictable: A quiet, home where she can feel safe and relaxed.

Best Fit Environment: A home without cats or very young children will help Mya feel most comfortable and confident as she navigates the world.

Why Mya Is So Special:
Adopting Mya means welcoming a dog who will bond deeply and wholeheartedly with her person. With patience and love, she offers unwavering devotion, trust, and affection. She’s a happy, playful, and loving girl who simply needs the right environment to truly thrive.

If you’re an experienced, compassionate adopter looking for a truly special companion to guide and adore, Mya is ready to begin her next chapter—one filled with comfort, stability, play, and love. 💕🐾

More about this shelter

At Darbster Rescue, our goal is to place kittens, cats, and dogs with great, forever homes in New England. The pets are primarily from South Florida and other southern states where the euthanasia rates are very high. Our shelters are in New Hampshire which has a strong demand for pets relative to supply and where shelters like ours are strictly no kill operations. Our animals will go to their new homes spayed or neutered, UTD on shots and a clean bill of health from FL and NH. We are here to help everyone look for the perfect match for themselves and their family.
