Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gus is an adorable 8-year-old, 45-pound terrier mix. He enjoys being active, exploring and playing with his dog friends. He loves to lay on the floor with you to get snuggles and to wrestle - don’t be fooled by his age, he has lots of energy and love to give. Gus is a super cute, smart, fun and unique boy who deserves a great home.
Gus will do best in a semi-active home with older children (10+ yrs) and he'd love another dog to play with. He has learned to live with cats and loves kittens! He can get excited sometimes but when they stand their ground, he leaves them alone.
He loves to play in running water and also enjoys squeaky toys and jerky treats. He is house and crate trained and does great when left alone in the house - he will happily sleep on the couch for hours. Gus loves to go for walks but can be strong on the leash - he is improving with a gentle-leader and practice. When excited he can invade personal space with his nose and needs reminding to give new people and animals space and time.
He knows a lot of commands and responds best to positive reinforcement. Gus would love a family who will continue his training and help him become his best self.
Gus' $250 adoption fee includes a microchip, vaccinations, and neuter surgery. If you would like to set up a Meet & Greet and be considered for adoption, please click on the button with the pet’s name to fill out an application. Someone will contact you within 24 hours. If you have difficulty with the application, please email us at Rescue@AnthemPets.org.
NOTE: Only Arizona based adoption inquiries will be considered.
