Pearl is a sweet cavalier looking for an experienced patient family that speaks 'dog'. Pearl is a breeder release from a commercial facility. She hasn't had the benefit a dog her age might have who was born in a home. That being said, while she is scared and timid, once she feels safe she is longing to bond with a family. She will likely always be timid. She needs family who will help her slowly decompress and adjust in her own time. Pearl is a friendly gentle gal. She needs a fenced in yard for her potty place. She doesn't understand leash walking. Pearl will do best in a home with another considerate confident dog to help show her the ropes and support her,
Cavaliers tend to be Velcro dogs. They want to be close to a human, Pearl is friendly, wags her tail and then retreats, She wants to be loved, She needs to relax enough to know she can move forward without fear, She needs a patient adopter without expectations she will change but will give her the time to allow her to if she chooses, Once she settles in she will follow you room to room to be close .
Like all dogs, she will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all dogs, not only to give Pearl important learning skills, but because you and your dog will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together.
Pearl is fully vetted. She has been spayed, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of her adopter. Her adoption fee is $1200..00. She is on the hunt for her own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Pearl wants to be sure her family is all in for better or for worse!
IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 12 MONTHS): You must have a flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. To adopt any animal from Rescue Tails we require a completed and verified adoption application. Once we can review the application, we can set up a meet and greet. We ask that all members of the household including pets are available for us and prospective pet to meet. Providing that goes well, we will set an appointment with you for a home visit. If all goes well we can proceed to the final step of finalizing the adoption.

Rescue Tails Animal Welfare is dedicated to rehoming pets from high kill shelters. We choose an animal one at a time and evaluate what issues caused the animal to end up in the shelter and address those issues. Most often we find behavioral issues and/or medical issues . We deal with whatever it is to the best of our ability and then place the pet up for adoption to a responsible pet guardian. It is our goal to prevent the pet from returning to the system again. We work with the pets and carefully match them to their forever homes.
