My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

(DOB 01/02/2024) Dozer, the energetic, playful, and cuddly superstar who’s ready to bring fun and laughter into your home! Dozer is a bundle of joy with a BIG personality. He thrives in an active environment where he can burn off his boundless energy. He loves to play with his doggy friends but due to his size he does better with dogs his size and energy level.

Dozer is kid-friendly and thinks everyone he meets wants to be his best friend but would do better with older kids due to his size and energy level. The word, stranger, means nothing to him and is a social butterfly disguised as a dog. His tail is almost always wagging and wags even faster when he sees people; he is ready to say, "HI!" and get a quick little rub from anyone! He is ready to go anytime,
anywhere, just pack him in the car and let's go! Dozer is working on mastering the loose leash walking thing so be ready to spend some time with him and some good leash training. Dozer wouldn't mind living in an apartment or condo as long as his family has plenty of time and activities for him. No fence is required but if you have one - great, Dozer will enjoy running and playing by himself or with his furry siblings.

If you’re looking for a solo companion, Dozer is happy to be your one-and-only, as long as you’re ready to give him the attention and love he craves. He’s also house and crate-trained, so no worries there. When it’s time to wind down, Dozer is all about cuddles and snuggles with his people. He’s a real sweetheart who loves to shower you with affection after a good play session. If you have an active
lifestyle and are ready to keep up with this lovable ball of energy, Dozer will be your loyal sidekick, making every day an adventure. He’s fun, playful, and will definitely keep you on your toes – but don’t worry, he’ll always be there to cuddle after a long day of play! Dozer is convinced he is a lap dog who loves to give plenty of kisses.

Dozer has the most squishable, kissable little face! And he's happy to get any and all affection you want to share. He also has the silkiest soft ears that you will love to just rub! This guy is an awesome catch - so don't wait!

As part of Dozer’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Dozer, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application at https://pawsforlifenc.org. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home.

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. The adoption fee is $325 for dogs under 6 months, $300 for 6 months and older. The adoption fee is $125 for kittens under 1 year ($225 for 2 kittens), $85 for cats 1 year and older. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life NC pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. Kittens under 6 months will require a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
