Malfoy is a wonderful boy who is very loving and well behaved except for one thing. Malfoy can scale a 6 ft high privacy fence. Malfoy is super athletic and like a Jackie Chan of dogs, he goes up the solid fence and over with zero problems. This is the reason that his family thought it would be best to find him another home. One where he is strictly leash walked when outside. In no way can Malfoy be outside in a fenced area because he will escape. This has been a source of great stress and worry for his family and unfortunately, they are not able to leash walk him throughout the day. They had other dogs and work and it just wasn't working out with the constant fence jumping. Malfoy is great with other dogs and with people he knows. He may behave fearfully or unsure around strangers as he has not really met many people outside of his original family. Malfoy is crate trained and does well in the house. He enjoys snuggling with his people and getting lots of attention. He is well behaved inside. It's only when he goes outside that he immediately will head for the fence. Malfoy is semi leash trained but may need a harness to assist him with getting fully comfortable on it since he will need to be leash walked each and every time he is outside. If you are not able to walk Malfoy each and every time he is outside, please do not apply for this boy. His owner's had tried numerous options (electronic fence, wire, higher fencing, etc.) before they chose to do find him a more suitable home. While leash walking is not a huge imposition for some, for others, it just doesn't always fit with their lifestyle and/or chaotic environment. Malfoy needs a dedicated person who can commit fully to this regiment and a home where someone can be home with him most of the time. If this sounds like your situation, Malfoy would be a great fit as he is a wonderful, loving boy!
Malfoy saw the vet on 5/5/25 and was found to have no issues noted. He has been started on Simparica Trio for flea control and heartworm prevention. He is heartworm negative but did test positive for hookworms on his fecal. We treated him with a Drontal for the hookworms. Malfoy weighed 17 pounds as of 5/5/25.

Malfoy's adoption fee will be $400 to help cover the cost of his vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Malfoy based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for him, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.
