My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lainey! This 4-year-old, 71-pound yellow Lab mix is the perfect combo of sweet, happy, and sassy!

- Loves people (especially kids!)
- Enjoys some dogs but prefers to choose her friends (She'd be fine as your one and only)
- Moderate energy and likes to play
-Belly rubs are her love language

Lainey had a rough start but hasn’t let it dim her spirit. She’s ready to share her big heart and joyful energy with a forever family!

More about this rescue

The Street Dog Project is comprised of a small group of volunteers who are passionate about saving street dogs in Dallas, TX. The majority of our team was previously heavily involved at another local street dog rescue but left for various reasons over the years. We wanted to save more lives so "got the band back together". We are an experienced team of rescuers, operating under a new name.

We have a lot of experience capturing elusive street dogs and helping them adjust to life in a loving home.

The dogs are taken to the vet upon rescue so they can be examined, dewormed, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive) and attend to any other medical needs. Life on the streets is tough so a lot of the dogs we take in have beyond basic medical needs. Heartworm, mange, leg and eye injuries are some of the most common medical conditions we encounter.
We are an all-volunteer organization and rely on donations to save lives. Donations can be made by clicking the "donate now" button on our Facebook page or visiting www.thestreetdogproject.org. Thanks for your support!
