Kai is a 1.5-year-old husky with the energy of a toddler on espresso and the charm to match. He quite literally cheated death after a lifesaving surgery — because of course he did. This street-smart survivor spent a year fending for himself, and now he’s ready to trade survival mode for adventure mode (preferably one that includes hikes, runs, and mental marathons).
He’s sweet, spunky, and full of life — the kind of guy who will steal your heart, your socks, and possibly your drywall if you leave him alone too long. :grimacing: Once he knows you, he’s a selective snuggler who will honor you with cuddles on his schedule (because, husky).
Kai is looking for a husky-savvy home that understands “tired husky = happy husky.” If you’re an active, patient human who laughs in the face of chaos and loves a good challenge, Kai might just be your soulmate. Apply to meet him today!

The Street Dog Project is comprised of a small group of volunteers who are passionate about saving street dogs in Dallas, TX. The majority of our team was previously heavily involved at another local street dog rescue but left for various reasons over the years. We wanted to save more lives so "got the band back together". We are an experienced team of rescuers, operating under a new name.
We have a lot of experience capturing elusive street dogs and helping them adjust to life in a loving home.
The dogs are taken to the vet upon rescue so they can be examined, dewormed, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive) and attend to any other medical needs. Life on the streets is tough so a lot of the dogs we take in have beyond basic medical needs. Heartworm, mange, leg and eye injuries are some of the most common medical conditions we encounter.
We are an all-volunteer organization and rely on donations to save lives. Donations can be made by clicking the "donate now" button on our Facebook page or visiting www.thestreetdogproject.org. Thanks for your support!
