My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Electra, one of the sweetest, smartest, cutest puppies you'll ever meet! Electra quickly made herself at home with her foster family. She LOVES her foster brother so much and gets along well with other dogs she meets. She also lived with a foster cat to whom she displayed only curiousity. Electra LOVES to play! Whether with toys, bones, other dogs, or humans, she could play all day! Electra is housebroken, knows her sit and paw commands and is working on leave it and stay. Electra loves to snuggle and cuddle with her loved ones. She is very alert and communicates any news with barks. Her leash walking is still a work in progress, but with each walk she becomes more comfortable. While she did well with crate training for the first few weeks, she can now be left unsupervised in the home with no destructive tendencies. Electra can be timid and unsure in new situations, whether meeting a new person or visiting a new place and she can be easily startled. But with love and reassurance, she learns she is safe and loved and warms up to new person or place. Electra would do best in a home with loving, patient humans, a fenced yard, and other dogs and even cats! While she will be lucky to find her furever home, her new family will be just as lucky to find her!

Electra spent over a month in a crowded South Carolina shelter, quietly waiting for a second chance alongside her sister and brother. When they ended up on the code red list, their time was running out—but we couldn’t let her story end there. Bringing her in not only saved her life, but opened space for another dog in desperate need.

Now settled into foster life, Electra has really bloomed. She’s a curious, thoughtful girl with a soft heart and an old soul. Whether she’s sniffing around the yard or gently leaning in for pets, there’s something calm and grounding about her. She’s ready to leave her past behind and find a forever home where she’ll always feel safe, wanted, and loved.

Electra is fostered in West Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and is ready to head home with a furever family.

More about this rescue

We believe that every dog, regardless of health, deserves at least a fighting chance to live, to love and to be loved for the entirety of their life. At Mostly Muttz Rescue, we often choose to save dogs suffering from curable illnesses within the shelter system rather than rescuing dogs that will be easy to place.
