Ali has been waiting for a forever family for a couple of years now.

He has a calm and gentle demeanor. He loves getting scratched on his back and his ears and will be your best friend for some canned food. He does still have some of that big dog energy and will run around the yard with the zoomies. He would make a great companion for someone that is looking for a best friend. No cats for Ali please and slow introductions with new dogs.

More about this shelter

We are a no-kill, non-profit pet placement and adoption center located in Ontario, California.

We were established in 1954 as the Humane Society of Chaffey Community and it served as the local animal control for the surrounding areas. Roughly 40 years later, we adopted a no-kill policy as West End Shelter for Animals.

Sociable homeless cats and dogs are surrendered by owners who can no longer keep them for various reasons and they remain with us indefinitely until we find them a new home. The shelter can provide temporary homes for up to 200+ cats and dogs. In addition to working with pet owners, we rescue a number of cats and dogs from county shelters where they await euthanasia due to pet overpopulation.
