My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi I'm Chewy! I'm a mid-aged Chihuahua and Pug mix, and I've had a bit of a journey, coming all the way from the Texas border abandoned and left alone with a unknown past of neglect. life has taught me to be pretty nervous so I tend to keep my distance and avoid people so I need patience and time to let me open up and trust but with a slow approach I love head scratchy and gentle pets all over I also love to bounce around and play and I love other doggy pals, I’m ready for a family who’s ready to let me blossom! I get very nervous when the staff try to leash me or I feel cornered so I will need time and confidence training to be my best self! so I really need a home that understands my needs. So a home with adults or older kids who respect my boundaries would be best for me. The leash is still a big challenge for me it’s new and scary but I'm hoping to find someone who's willing to work with me slowly and kindly. If you have a quiet home and a big heart, maybe we can learn to trust each other and become a family!

If you are interested in adopting a dog from us please visit the ranch. Our website adoptions page has all of our availalbe dogs and our adoption application at www.bdrr.org/adopt. This will help us make sure we find you the right dog to fit your situation and family. You are welcomed to come to the ranch seven days a week or you can make an appointment with our adoption desk. Our adoption fees range depending on the dog's breed, age and other factors.
