My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This adorable pup is Sid

Sid is an approximately 7 month old male Labrador/Shepherd mix. He should be around 40 - 55 lbs as an adult (best guess). He was rescued from the streets suffering from mange, a painful skin condition caused by mites. Sid has a clean bill of health and most of his hair has grown in nice and full.

Sid is a true puppy with lots of energy! He loves to be with people. He loves all things toys and not toys. He will try to steal the foster kid's toys. He really likes other dogs (a lot), but it might take a slow introduction. Once acquainted with them, they become his best buds! He is also good with children (even though he tries and steals their toys). He must meet all dogs in the home prior to adoption.

Being from the streets (and missing many meals), Sid is very food motivated and will do anything for food even try to steal it off the table so make sure all chairs are pushed in. He is told "no" several times a day, and he stops immediately and comes to you for reassurance that you love him.

Sid loves to go outside with his foster dog friends and burn his energy. He requires a very secure fenced yard to run and explore. He is always up for a game of chase the ball! And he will protect you from that nemesis, the vacuum cleaner. Such a fun-loving dog, he will keep you laughing at his antics.

He is crate-trained and will sleep through the night until about 6:00 a.m., when he needs a potty break. But he will go right back to bed and continue sleeping. He is doing very good on his house-training, but he does better if you go out with him. He is learning to go out on his own.

Sid is neutered, current on vaccines and microchipped. His adoption fee is $225.

Additional adoption info

Every dog that is rescued by Forever Yours is checked by a veterinarian, vaccinated, spay/neutered, dewormed, heartworm/ehrlichia tested and treated if needed, and microchipped. We also treat any other illnesses or issues that the dog may have on intake.

We require an adoption application (FYDRadopt.com), a house check, and our adoption fee is $225.00.

If available, you will get an opportunity to talk to your chosen pet's foster family when you meet your potential new family member. This will enable you to ask any questions and learn all about your pet.

Forever Yours Dog Rescue does not have a facility, all of our wonderful rescues are in foster homes with families that take care of them and love them until their forever homes come along.

More about this rescue

Forever Yours Dog Rescue was founded on November 8th, 2011, with the mission of helping smaller animal shelters located throughout Oklahoma.

We are an Oklahoma City based all-breed 501(c) dog rescue, caring for the unwanted, abandoned, and abused dogs of Oklahoma. We rescue from local shelters and shelters throughout Oklahoma. We do take owner surrender's under certain situations.

We promote adoption as an alternative to buying your pet.
We provide pet ownership education through materials, counceling, and on-site workshops, at no cost to the public, with an emphasis on preventative care.

We are all volunteer based, with no paid employees.
Please support us in our mission to attain a time in Oklahoma when there are homes for all adoptable pets by donating at www.foreveryoursokc.org/donate.
