Here's what the humans have to say about me:
DOB: May 7, 2021
Jonesy is a sweet foster cat who may be a little shy at first, but once he gets to know you, he becomes a devoted friend who loves to keep you company. He enjoys being near you, quietly sharing your space without demanding constant attention.
Jonesy is incredibly gentle and tolerant — he won’t fuss or squirm when you pick him up or pet him, making him a perfect cuddle buddy for those calm, cozy moments. He would thrive in a home with one person, a couple, or a family with calm children who still like to play.
He’s a happy eater who enjoys both wet and dry food, and he’s been completely reliable with his litterbox habits.
Funny quirk: Jonesy loves to lick your skin! Whether it’s your arms, hands, or if you’re wearing shorts, he’ll happily lick your knees and calves. We’re not sure if he thinks we’re also cats and is trying to groom us, or if he’s just marking us with his scent for other cats. Either way, it’s pretty adorable.
Special note from the foster parent: Jonesy’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. It’s believed he was hit by a car, which meant a long road of healing — including relearning how to walk. My roommate and I welcomed him into our care during the final stages of his recovery, while he was also healing from a urinary infection. Reading his background really helped us to understand what he needed in the first few days.
Jonesy is naturally shy at first, needing a couple of days to warm up and start trusting you. After a day or two, his affection grows as he feels safe and loved. Sometimes, you can see his hesitation when doing things other cats do without a second thought, like jumping off a low coffee table or hopping onto a chair — but he always manages to work up the courage to do it!
Despite everything he’s been through, Jonesy remains brave, curious, and remarkably tolerant. His quiet and sweet nature make him a truly special companion. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion who values quiet presence and gentle affection, Jonesy could be the perfect match for you!
