My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!**

Name: Piper

Breed: Mixed Breed. I'm not sure what I am. Everyone says I'm really cute though!

Sex/Age/Weight: Female/ estimated DOB 12/2024 /40lbs

Vetting: spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention.

House trained: Yes

Crate Trained: Yes. My crate is my safe space and I will chill in there and am the goodest girl when waiting for my foster Mama to let me out.

Before FAR: My sister Nelli and I were surrendered to a loud scary shelter by our previous owner. I didn't love it there and was very nervous even though the staff loved me and took very good care of me and my sister. Lucky for me my foster mama saw me and Nelli and decided to rescue us! I've come out of my shell since being in a safe quiet home and I keep hearing I'm a sweet and smart girl.

Energy Level: I'm young, so I still have puppy energy, but I'm probably more on the medium side. Don't worry though! Even though I sometimes have zoomies and love playing with other pups or running around the yard, I'm also a gentle girl that can chill on the couch or wherever my human is hanging out.

Things that make me happy: Playing with and being around other dogs, running around outside and playing with my toys. I actually LOVE playing with balls and will chase after them, run around with them in my mouth and play fetch with them. I also love being near my human and am up for a good cuddle session when I am not playing or chasing balls.

Things that make my humans happy: How sweet and cute I am, how smart I am and how quickly I pick up on training, my wiggle butt that moves at lightning speed when I get excited and my ears that perk right up like litle little radars on top of my head.

Commands I know: Sit, stay, shake, high five, down, release ( by using the word ok) and place. I'm also working with a dog trainer and they are helping me be the best dog I can be for my furever home.

Working on: Having more confidence in new environments or around new people. I can be a little unsure around new people, but once I'm comfortable with you, my personality really shines, and you'll have a best friend for life!

Dogs: Yes

Cats: My foster home does not have cats, but the ones I have seen around the neighborhood I tend to want to chase (dont worry, my foster Mama won't let me. She says they are not like a ball I can play fetch with). The rescue can do a formal cat test upon request if you are interested in being my furever home.

Children: So far, I've been good with kids. I would do best in a home with older kids, though (12 and older), or kids that can be calm and gentle with me.

Ideal Family/Home: I'd do best in a home with other dogs and with people that can give me lots of love and affection and are willing to continue training me and showing me what it means to be a happy confident dog.

If you are interested in giving Piper a forever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html It is best to submit an application through a computer. We have experienced some problems when applications have been submitted using a mobile device. *When you submit the application, you are not obligated to adopt however it does reserve for you the opportunity to adopt that particular animal. We review them on a first come first served basis. If your application is approved, we will contact you and allow you the opportunity to adopt. If you choose not to adopt, we will contact the next approved applicant. If you have any questions or difficulties, please contact us and we will be glad to help!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the potential adopter filling out an adoption application. In the application, you can specify a particular dog in which you are interested, or let us know what type of pet in which you are looking, so we can find the perfect animal to fit your family and your needs. Once the application is received, a board member will review the application, and make contact with the potential adopter within 48 hours. This initial contact may include further questions/more information, or may include scheduling a meet and greet for you to meet the animal in which you are interested! Once the application is approved or the meet and greet goes well, then the adoption can be finalized. To finalize the adoption, an adoption agreement must be completed, the adoption fee paid (we accept cash, paypal, or credit/debit card), and then the potential adopter can take their new family member home with them or schedule pick up of their furry family member! The adoption fee varies based on the animal. Some of our animals have the fees listed in their individual post but if you do not see one then please feel free to contact us and we would be happy to let you know the cost to adopt a particular pet. If you are interested in any of our animals, please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have!!

Go meet their pets

We hold adoption events some Saturdays at various locations around middle GA from 11 am-3 pm. Check our Facebook page for updates on Events! We are also able to arrange meet and greets for local adopters!

More about this rescue

Furever After Rescue, a 501(c)(3) organization, is a no-kill, foster-based rescue devoted to finding homes for animals needing a loving home. Most of our animals come from local, high-kill shelters with some occasionally coming from bad situations and owner surrender. Our animals are immediately placed in foster homes where they learn love and are taught how to live in a home environment. All of our animals are up-to-date on their age-appropriate vetting needs and are tested for personality traits as best as possible. We have many wonderful pets looking for forever homes!

We are currently based out of Macon, GA but partner with a quality private transport group that helps us get our furbabies to homes up and down the east coast so don't let distance deter you from contacting us about one of our furry friends!
