**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!**
Name: Snack
Breed: Chihuahua mix
Sex/Age/Weight: Male/estimated DOB 09/2024/ about 10 pounds
Vetting: Up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventatives
House trained/Crate Trained: Working on house training; needs to be placed in crate at night but he settles down in a few minutes and sleeps through the night.
Dogs/Cats/Children: Lives with other dogs; there are cats in another room, but when we’ve walked him through, he ignores them; no children
Energy Level: Energetic puppy, but he’ll settle and sit next to his foster mom after a bit of roughhousing with our resident dog.
Before FAR/My History: Unknown except he lived with A LOT of dogs.
Working on: House training, walking on leash, and knowing his name
Things I like: Playing with his brothers (foster and biological)
Things I don’t like: Loud noises
Things that make my humans happy: Snack and his brother sure are cute!
Ideal Family/Home: We’d love it if he and his brother Pinto were adopted together, but that’s not a requirement. Having a friendly resident dog would be ideal, so he learns how to be a dog.
Special Notes: Snack and his brother Pinto are blind, but they really don’t let that get in their way. They use the steps to get on and off the bed several times a day. They wrestle and play like sighted puppies, but they’re more tactile and miss visual cues. Snack is more outgoing and initiates play.
If you are interested in giving Snack a forever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html It is best to submit an application through a computer. We have experienced some problems when applications have been submitted using a mobile device. *When you submit the application, you are not obligated to adopt however it does reserve for you the opportunity to adopt that particular animal. We review them on a first come first served basis. If your application is approved, we will contact you and allow you the opportunity to adopt. If you choose not to adopt, we will contact the next approved applicant. If you have any questions or difficulties, please contact us and we will be glad to help!

Our adoption process starts with the potential adopter filling out an adoption application. In the application, you can specify a particular dog in which you are interested, or let us know what type of pet in which you are looking, so we can find the perfect animal to fit your family and your needs. Once the application is received, a board member will review the application, and make contact with the potential adopter within 48 hours. This initial contact may include further questions/more information, or may include scheduling a meet and greet for you to meet the animal in which you are interested! Once the application is approved or the meet and greet goes well, then the adoption can be finalized. To finalize the adoption, an adoption agreement must be completed, the adoption fee paid (we accept cash, paypal, or credit/debit card), and then the potential adopter can take their new family member home with them or schedule pick up of their furry family member! The adoption fee varies based on the animal. Some of our animals have the fees listed in their individual post but if you do not see one then please feel free to contact us and we would be happy to let you know the cost to adopt a particular pet. If you are interested in any of our animals, please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have!!

More about this rescue
Furever After Rescue, a 501(c)(3) organization, is a no-kill, foster-based rescue devoted to finding homes for animals needing a loving home. Most of our animals come from local, high-kill shelters with some occasionally coming from bad situations and owner surrender. Our animals are immediately placed in foster homes where they learn love and are taught how to live in a home environment. All of our animals are up-to-date on their age-appropriate vetting needs and are tested for personality traits as best as possible. We have many wonderful pets looking for forever homes!
We are currently based out of Macon, GA but partner with a quality private transport group that helps us get our furbabies to homes up and down the east coast so don't let distance deter you from contacting us about one of our furry friends!
