About Pinky
Pinky is a 3-year-old, 45-pound pocket pittie who is the ultimate bundle of joy! This sweet girl is full of love, energy, and all the good vibes you could ask for.

Pinky's Favorite Things
- Fetch fanatic: She would happily chase a ball for hours
- Mental enrichment: Loves sniff-and-seek games and puzzle toys
- Downtime: Perfectly content with chew bones and well-earned naps
- Cuddles: A professional snuggler who'll keep you warm and loved

Training & Behavior:
Pinky is a model of good behavior! She's a graduate of the Ultimate Dog Package Training Program at Proactive Dog Training in Cary, NC, where she mastered:
- House manners: Crate trained, impeccably potty trained ("go potty" on command), and place trained
- Commands: Sit, down, stay, here, focus, leave it, yes, no, and out (drop it)
- Walks: Doesn't pull, enjoys a structured and free walk, and can stay in a heel position
- Daily life: She knows exactly where to relax until you tell her it's playtime

Important Information:
While Pinky grew up with a dog, a cat, and a small child, she wasn't well-socialized as a puppy. She absolutely loves her people, but has a healthy skepticism about strangers and takes some warming up. She currently lives comfortably with another dog and enjoys pack walks after a slow introduction, but would truly thrive as the only dog in the household. She's fine on walks but isn't ready for dog parks yet.

Ideal Home:
Pinky would love an active family who can play fetch with her or even take her on jogs. She's ready to be the queen of someone's castle and bring sunshine into their home!

Additional adoption info

Everyone that adopts must first fill out an application and get approved by our adoption team. We allow people to meet our animals to make sure it is the right fit along with letting their animals meet our animals as well as long as that animal meets the vetting criteria.

More about this rescue

We are a non-profit and no-kill shelter in Rutherford North Carolina. We pull animals from animal control and take in animals from the community. We make sure everyone is healthy, up to date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and put on something for fleas, ticks and heartworm prevention. We then place them up for adoption making sure they go into great homes.
