My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Skippy, aka Skippy-Doo! He's a 3-year-old, ~60-lb Shepsky mix with a heart full of love and energy. Skippy’s journey had a perfectly fairytale beginning -- he sneaked into his foster family’s yard to play with their resident dogs and was discovered the next morning. At the time, he was shy, having spent his life as a stray avoiding humans. But now, Skippy has blossomed into a happy and confident dog, excited to meet new people and enjoy life to the fullest.

Skippy is incredibly dog-friendly, and he would thrive in a home with another energetic, playful dog. He’s a toy lover and has a habit of hoarding them, often stashing his toys in his bed and forgetting about them. He especially loves chasing footballs. He’s also learned several commands, including sit, stay, leave it, touch, and shake, and his playful, youthful energy makes him a great companion for active families or individuals who enjoy outdoor adventures. Skippy is a foster "office dog" at a local business, where he’s well-mannered and enjoys car rides, making him a great buddy to take along on outings.

While Skippy is whip-smart and eager to please, he’s still learning and isn’t quite housetrained yet. However, with his quick learning abilities and eagerness to make his humans happy, he’ll do well with a bit of guidance and consistency in his training. Skippy does have some resource guarding tendencies, especially with toys or the backseat of a car, but he’s never shown aggression—just a polite warning bark when he feels the need to claim his space.

Skippy is a healthy, fully-vetted dog who has been treated for heartworms, is on heartworm preventative, and is up-to-date on all vaccinations. He’s neutered and microchipped, ready for his forever family! If you're looking for a fun-loving, playful dog who will bring joy to your life, Skippy might just be the perfect companion. He’s ready to make new memories with you!
