My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Wilbur came into rescue at just two weeks old with his sister, and while she sadly didn’t make it, Wilbur fought hard and thrived thanks to the loving hands that bottle‑fed him around the clock. That early bond made him a deeply affectionate, people‑oriented pup who adores being close to his humans.

Today, Wilbur is a happy, healthy, gentle little guy who lives in a lively foster home filled with dogs, adults, and his favorite person in the world — a three‑year‑old girl who calls him “baby.” She shares her snacks, he shares his kisses, and the two of them are inseparable. He’s wonderfully patient, gentle, and endlessly sweet with kids. He can be a little shy in new or busy environments, but he warms up quickly with reassurance. He’s smart, motivated,

Wilbur gets along beautifully with other dogs and enjoys being part of a pack. He’s playful without being overwhelming, affectionate without being clingy, and eager to please in that way only bottle babies seem to master. He rides well in the car, loves toys, and has a calm, even‑tempered nature that makes him easy to love.

Wilbur is ready for a family who will cherish him the way he deserves — someone who sees not just a cute face, but a resilient, loving pup with so much joy to give. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion who will adore you forever, Wilbur is your boy.

Breed info: EMBARK DNA results available in his photo gallery.

More about this rescue

We are not selective about the breed of dog we help. We consider the lives of all breeds to be equal. The labor force behind our mission is 100% volunteer staffed. We save dogs from shelters as well as from owners who cannot care for their dogs any longer. The dogs we take in are placed in loving foster homes until they find their forever home. We do not have a brick and mortar facility; we are 100% foster based including loving fospice for terminally ill dogs. We work to support the local community by providing education on care and treatment of dogs. Promoting safe handling, the importance of vaccinations, heartworm prevention, advocating and providing financial assistance to those in need for spay and neutering. We arrange for community outreach by building kennels and outdoor shelters to get dogs off chains.
