My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I’m Huckleberry, your future partner in purrime crime and professional lap warmer (floor edition).

I used to run with a tough crowd — alley cats, raccoons, one weird squirrel. But now? I’m reformed. I’ve discovered the three great joys of life: cuddles, kibble, and that magical hand humans use to scritch behind my ears (seriously, where did y’all learn that?!).

I’m a big fan of string feather wands (aka “bird impersonation devices”), treats (yes, I will hear the bag crinkle from three rooms away), and lap lounging — but only when you’re sitting on the floor. Chairs are for amateurs.

If I chirp at you, it’s not bird talk — it’s my polite way of saying, “Excuse me, human, your attention, meow please.” I get along great with other cats, too — I’m more of a “share the sunbeam” kind of guy than a “drama in the litter box” type.

So if you’re looking for a sweet, slightly bashful boy who will purr-suade you to give him snacks, playtime, and love… I’m your Huck.

Go meet their pets

We will be holding adoption event days with PetSmart on Ft Jackson Blvd and Two Notch Rd as well as PetSense on Garners Ferry Rd. These are partnerships that we've initiated and that have been greeted with open arms by these great organizations. MUCH More to Come!

More about this rescue

At Cat Around Town Project, we believe that by spaying and neutering as many stray and colony cats as possible, we are proactively controlling overpopulation at its source. All kittens and any cats that are adoptable are removed from the colonies and adopted to suitable homes. One day, when the supply meets the demand, there will be a home waiting for every kitten in our community. .
