My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sprout 🌱
Small name, huge heart.

Sprout is the kind of dog who grows on you in the very best way. He’s a little shy when you first meet him, but give him a bit of time (and a gentle voice), and he’ll bloom into the sweetest, most loyal companion. Once he opens up, Sprout is all about love, cuddles, and being right by your side.

He does wonderfully with kids and would truly thrive in a home with another dog to help boost his confidence and show him the ropes. An active home with someone around most of the day is his dream setup—because Sprout loves company and doesn’t want to miss a single moment with his people.

At night, he’s a professional bed snuggler. During the day, he’s your built-in shadow, happily following you from room to room just to make sure you’re never alone. 💚

If you’re looking for a gentle soul who will grow into your heart and stay there forever, Sprout is ready to plant himself right into your life. 🌿

More about this rescue

A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
