Their adoption process
We are a home and foster care-based rescue. Because our rescue dogs live in private homes, we only set up an appointment to meet the dog(s) in which people are interested after they are approved to adopt.
Adoption steps
- Submit Application
- Email info@savethestrays.org for our application. Once we receive the completed application, we check references.
- Interview
- After checking references, we call applicants for a phone chat.
- Meet the Pet
- Once approved, we set up a date and time to meet the dog. If applicants and dog are a good match, the dog can go home that day.

Save the Strays Animal Rescue & Sanctuary rescues abandoned, unwanted, neglected and abused dogs from kill shelters and individuals and provides veterinary and day-to-day care for them until they are physically and emotionally ready for adoption. We also provide sanctuary and hospice care for senior and chronically or terminally ill dogs and those that are not adopted for any other reason.
