My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Moose is a mellow, saintly companion gelding. His current owner adopted him from Hope's Legacy Equine Rescue where he was once a part of an Animal Control forced-owner surrender. She rode him initially, but is now 9 months pregnant and needs to shift her attention to her growing family. Moose has never spooked with his owner, his solid personality reflects in his mindfulness of his herdmates during turnout and quiet presence during feed time and grooming.

During our connections to meet Moose, his owner shared a story from his previous owner where a child that had been riding him slipped off the saddle and got their foot caught in the stirrup. Like a good boy, Moose stood still and waited until someone could come and fix it.

Even as age and arthritis will keep him from being ridden in his late years, he is ready for a companion home that will continue with his senior diet and appreciate his grounding presence within the herd.

He is currently barefoot and up to date on vaccines, farrier and deworming. His medical records can be made available from Blue Ridge Equine by request.
