Hi my name is Jackson Bailey and I am looking for my forever home. I am only 2 years old and only weigh 11 pounds. I used to be shy and I am still a little, but my foster mom has taught me that living life to the fullest is a whole lot more fun. My foster family has taught me how to make friends with my foster siblings. I learned how to play with and how to be a pet.

Foster mom has taught me that sleeping all night in my own little bed in my own little kennel is very calming. That’s my private space and is especially nice. I don’t cry or whine, I go right to sleep. I even eat in my kennel and have learned to wait politely and I take snacks gently.

I really need a home of my very own and maybe it would be really nice if I had a friend to play with. I really enjoy the special attention the humans f=give me and all they have taught me.

Can you be my forever family? I do know how to give hand kisses and foster mom says I’m the most gentle, quiet, polite little man she’s ever had.

Jackson is approximately two years old and full of life. He weighs about 11 pounds. He loves being outside and he loves all of his brothers and sisters.

Current Adoption Fee $ 225.00 per dog, discounts for bonded pairs or senior/special needs dogs or previous adopters from DDRTX.

Adoption application, reference checks and home visit required for adoption approval. Previous pets must have been kept up to date on vaccinations, be spayed or neutered, AND kept on heartworm prevention. Application can be found on our primary website www.ddrtx.org on the "Available Dogs" page.

More about this rescue

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is an all volunteer group in the heart of Texas that is dedicated to the health, welfare and happiness of our dachshund friends. We are based in San Antonio, Texas but we have fosters/volunteers in Austin, San Angelo and DFW areas. We are a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. As such, we must rely heavily on donations and contributions to be able to pay the costs of health care, administrative needs, and other necessary expenses for each of our dachshunds. Diamond Dachshund has rescued, rehabilitated and placed approximately one hundred dachshunds each year since our incorporation in 1998. That's a lot of happy, healthy dogs and equally happy families! We strive to find the right home for each dog's individual personality and needs, so that the placement is permanent and both the dogs and the humans who adopt them, are equally happy.
