Why this pet is the one for you:
Clamantha is a curious and charming red-eared slider with a big personality packed into a petite shell. This lovely lady enjoys basking under her heat lamp, exploring her tank and watching the world go by. She's low-maintenance but full of character-perfect for a reptile enthusiast or a responsible first-time turtle parent. Clamantha is looking for a family who can ensure she lives out her days in comfort without the chance to (slowly) make a break for the wild, as red-eared sliders are non-native to California and can disrupt our local ecosystem. While Clamantha could settle into a massive indoor aquarium (100+ gallons), her ideal habitat is an outdoor pond where she can swim, bask and explore in a safe, predator-free environment. The pond should be established and bioactive or equipped with a high-tech filter to keep things clean. With a lifespan of over 20 years, Clamantha thrives on a diet of turtle pellets, supplemented with a species-specific menu including delicacies like insects, fruits and veggies. And don't forget to install that tiny turtle fence! If you're ready to welcome a calm, graceful and unique pet into your life, Clamantha is ready to slide into your heart!
