Meet Ricky 🐾—our sweet and shy little guy who’s still learning to trust the world. At about 10 lbs and 4 years old, this small breed mix has a gentle soul and a big heart. People can be a bit scary to him right now, and when it comes to other dogs, he’s not a fan—Ricky truly prefers his space and will do best as the only dog in the home. 🐕🚫
Ricky will need a very patient human who understands that trust takes time and love grows slowly. He’s not the type to seek out attention right away, but with consistency and calm, he’ll learn that the world isn’t so scary after all. He’s still figuring things out, and what he needs most is someone willing to go at his pace. 🐢💞
If you have a soft spot for underdogs and a quiet home where Ricky can feel safe, he just might be your perfect match. He may not be the life of the party, but he's the kind of friend who’ll be quietly loyal for life. 🥹💖

More about this rescue
The vision of Animal Compassion Team has been years in the making, shaped by hard work, heartbreak, and an unwavering love for animals. Despite the challenges, we chose this path because saving lives matters—it's that simple. Every dog, cat, and animal we rescue reaffirms our commitment to making a difference. In August 2009, we took a leap of faith and became a 501(c)3 non-profit, ready to turn hope into action. Each life saved makes every effort worthwhile, and we look forward to sharing countless happy endings.
Our Mission Statement
To provide a safe haven for animals of all breeds and species through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and sanctuary. To advocate for humane treatment, promote the human-animal bond, and educate about kindness, compassion, and responsible pet ownership, emphasizing spaying and neutering. Together with other rescues and shelters, we strive toward a no-kill nation.
