Azula von Landau is a 3 year old beautiful long-haired shepherd with a sweet, gentle spirit. A total love bug, Azula is one of the most requested dogs by volunteers because she is so charming and easy to walk. She adores petting and will lean in so you can rub her all over. Azula is treat-motivated, knows her sit and down, and takes treats gently. When it's walk time, she comes out happy and ready to explore, and stays close by your side. This girl enjoys greeting people and walks calmly next to other dogs. In playgroups, Azula is a social girl who enjoys mingling and getting to know everyone. She greets other dogs politely and explores the yard, even briefly engaging in a little play. If you’re looking for a charming and affectionate companion, Azula is ready to join your family. Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
