Meet Espresso ☕

Just like his namesake, Espresso is a smooth blend of comfort and energy. This sweet boy is curious, affectionate, and wonderfully laidback, with just the right splash of playful spirit to keep life interesting. He’s the kind of companion who’s happy to relax by your side but always ready for a little fun when the mood strikes.

Espresso has grown up here at the shelter and is more than ready to leave kennel life behind for a warm home and a family of his own. He’s still waiting to discover what it’s like to be someone’s favorite daily ritual—steady, comforting, and impossible to live without.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fees for dogs includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, de-wormer, flea and tick prevention, heart worm prevention, heart worm tested, and microchip registration.

Adult Dogs: $200
Puppies: $225

Cat adoption fees include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, de-wormer, FIV/FeLV testing, flea and tick prevention, and microchip registration.

Adult Cats: $75 (or $125 for a pair)
Kittens: $90 (or $150 for a pair)

Since 1979, the Effingham County Humane Society has been committed to serving Effingham County, IL and the surrounding area. We are located in the former Funkhouser School, and our non-profit shelter is sustained by volunteers, fundraising, contributions, and adoption fees.

The goal of the Effingham County Humane Society is to reduce animal suffering in our county through educating and promoting responsible pet ownership, including spaying/neutering pets, appropriate pet identification, proper pet care, and the quality adoption of homeless pets.
