My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miette (aka tiny crumb aka Mietta) is a petite girl with a bit of an anxiety problem. She loves her people and wants to constantly be pet, as in it’s kind of annoying but also cute. Although she’s not a lap sitter, she’s very curious and wants to be involved in everything. The most important thing about Miette is she appreciates a calm and routine household. She hides a lot if things are too busy, chaotic, or different. She’s extremely vocal and communicates with little love bites that don’t break skin but are a bit unexpected. She is a bit of an instigator and regularly gets bullied by her brothers so she can be a bit defensive if another cat isn’t the nicest to her. She’s very curious and does love friendly, social cats but is just selective after being picked on so much. Her best fit would be someone who is quiet and routined and a bit of a shut in who wants to be besties with their cat. Her siblings are not where that’s at….maybe Jaques 🤷🏼‍♀️ but if another cat is around they need to be out of the wrestling stage and mostly enjoy cuddling and coexisting rather than having physical contact although Miette will probably groom them. Honestly she would LOVE a cat friend and would probably be linely withiut one and cry a lot. Tiny crumb LOVES toys. Her love language is playing with toys and with someone to pet her and play with her the world would be forever right for her. Wand toys, springs, crinkle balls, you name it she’s in! Her final request: Miette finds comfort in being high up so tall cat trees, a cat wall, etc would be ideal in making her feel comfortable and safe in a new home.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Please see our website: www.catscradleva.org for a copy of our adoption application and adoption contract. Adoption fees vary, but generally run around $135.

All our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, and fully vetted. We have an adoption center in Harrisonburg, but we also make extensive use of foster homes until adoption.

We generally prefer indoor only homes, and our contract specifies that the cat(s) will not be de-clawed.

We have some cats that cannot be adopted into an indoor situation. For these, we seek safe barn or out-building locations.

Go meet their pets

We show our cats at PetSmart in Springfield, VA on most 1st and 3rd Saturdays, at the PetSmart in Harrisonburg, VA on some Saturdays and some Sunday afternoons, and at the Petsmart in Waynesboro on Saturdays. We also show cats at our adoption center at 124 S Main St. in Harrisonburg 11-6 M-F, and 11-5 Sat and 11-4 Sunday.

Please visit our website: www.catscradleva.org for other adoption events and hours for showings or call the adoption center at 540-433-1135.

More about this rescue

Founded in 1998, Cat’s Cradle seeks to end euthanasia of healthy adoptable cats and dogs in Shenandoah Valley through aggressive spay/neuter of owned animals and TNR (trap/neuter/release) of feral cats.

We also have a network of foster parents and an active adoption program for cats. In 2009 we opened an adoption center in Harrisonburg. We do not euthanize for space.

Please visit our website at: www.catscradleva.org for more information.
