Their adoption process

The adoption process has several stages to ensure our huskies are going to qualified, educated, loving and forever homes. Our current process and fees can be found at https://texashuskyrescue.org/process-to-adopt/

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
There is no application fee, and all apps are processed by part-time volunteer members. The process can take several weeks.
  2. Home Check
Includes checking with 1) vets for past history 2) with apt complexes for pet policies. Post-COVID home checks are completed virtually.
  3. Interview
Volunteer Counselors talk with applicants to determine readiness for husky life, and start considering possible matches.
  4. Approve Application
  5. Meet the Pet
  6. Sign Adoption Contract
You also pay the fee at this time, depending on whether a puppy or adult. Puppies also require $100 spay/neuter deposit returned upon proof
  7. Take the Pet Home

Go meet their pets

More about this rescue

Mission: To rescue, rehabilitate, and find qualified loving homes for neglected, abused, and unwanted Huskies throughout Texas. To educate the public about responsible pet ownership and the special qualities of the Siberian Husky Breed.

History: Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. was created in May 2009 as a non-profit 501(c)3 animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers and does not have a paid staff or a shelter. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc relies solely on volunteer foster families to take huskies into their homes until permanent, qualified, and loving homes can be found. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is a responsible animal adoption agency and requires that all dogs over 6 months are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We ensure that none of our dogs will ever contribute to the overpopulation of dogs in our community. The work of Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is supported by tax-deductible contributions by individuals, corporations, and grants.
