This is Pickles we took her from our city shelter on jan 28th 2025, she was approx 6 weeks old..she had been hit by a car, her left front leg had multiple fractures, Dr Payne our Orthopedic Surgeon after reviewing the x rays said that she was too young to do any repair work as she was still growing and plating or putting in screws would just impede her growth and there were so many breaks from her ankle up, so every few weeks we take her in for new x rays to see if her leg is healing, Dr Payne feels that at this stage she is doing well and anything that he did would probably do more harm than good, her leg is a tad shorter than the other, but you wouldn't know unless you were told and she does not need any surgery.

She is now 1 year old as of November 2025 and approx 20 lbs, she runs and plays like any other dog and is just the happiest little girl.

She is now ready for her new home, she gets along with everyone, loves to eat and play with her toys, is pretty well house trained, she runs out to the yard with her buddies, she is not leash/harness trained, but is a very smart pup and should learn very fast, we did a Dna test on her she is Yorkie/Chihuahua(of course) and miniature schnauzer.

OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with experienced dog owners only and no children under that age of 8 years.

The total adoption fee of $500 ( and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, distemper ,canine influenza, and microchip. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. Our application is online at
