My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Winter, a beautiful five-year-old pup who sees the world through her heart rather than her ears. Partially deaf, Winter may live in a quieter world, but her love speaks volumes. She is proof that the perfect dog doesn’t need to be perfect in every way—just perfectly loving. Winter is crate trained, housebroken, and has a calm, easygoing energy. She enjoys one or two walks a day and is happiest when curled up next to her favorite human for a cozy nap. She’s incredibly patient and gentle with children over the age of six, making her a wonderful companion for families with older kids. Although cats are a bit too interesting for Winter, she absolutely adores her people and thrives in a calm, loving environment. Her compatibility with other dogs is unknown, but we’re happy to arrange a meet-and-greet to see how she gets along with yours. Winter does have some medical needs, but she handles them like a champ. At sixty pounds, she’s the perfect size for couch cuddles and quiet companionship. If you believe love is about connection and not perfection, Winter might just be the missing piece in your family. She’s patiently waiting for someone to see her for the wonderful soul she truly is. Come meet Winter—you might just fall in love.August 21, 2025, 1:45 pm

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
