My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Courtesy post: Cookie is a 1.5-year-old, 60-lb pit bull sweetheart with a soft heart and a gentle soul. True to her name, she’s a little shy at first — but give her a moment and you’ll see her warm up into a loving, loyal companion. She’s housebroken and crate trained (she may protest briefly, but settles in nicely), and she’s been living comfortably in a home environment for several months. Cookie has met another dog in the past and did well, though slow introductions would be best as we continue learning more about her preferences. Around new people, Cookie can be initially reserved, but her sweet nature shines once she feels safe. She’s the kind of girl who just wants reassurance, consistency, and a cozy place to call her own. If you’re looking for a loving, gentle companion who just needs a little patience and a lot of love, Cookie may be your perfect match. More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
