My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a cat who will absolutely bomb his meet n' greet… but quickly win your heart? Meet Slate — our velvety-soft gray boy with a tiny scar, a gentle soul, and a deep, passionate love for one thing: Slatey pets (his term, not ours).

Slate’s journey started rough — likely a run-in with a not-so-friendly neighborhood dog or coyote — but he’s healed up like a champ, with just a little scar and a lot of resilience to show for it. He’s shy at first (and by “shy” we mean: “he will stare at you like you’re a slightly suspicious houseplant”), but once he warms up? Boom — the forceful face rubs begin. This is not a drill. Slate will slam his cheeks into your hand for maximum pet-to-face contact. We’re not saying it’s dramatic, but we have had to brace ourselves.

Mornings? That’s Slate’s time to shine. He springs up from his plush pillow bed like a breakfast enthusiast on a mission. He's not big on parties or loud crowds, but give him a calm home with a kind human or two and he’ll quietly bloom into your purring, pillow-loving sidekick.

Ideal home: Quiet, patient, cat-savvy folks. No wild parties. Maybe a chill feline friend or a calm dog buddy. Definitely a breakfast schedule.

Give Slate a chance to flub your first date and steal your heart by the second. He’s soft. He’s shy. He’s ready to rub faces with you.
