7/9 - adopter wants to think about re-homing them. She hates to re-home them so she may still work on it.
Butch (bonded with Cody) appears to be a purebred beagle and is puppy-like in his playful and affectionate nature. Both are estimated to be 4 years old per the rescue. They are friendly with women, men and other dogs, and have no known experience with children. Their history begins in southern Indiana when they were picked up as strays. Each have the same tattoo in their ears, suggesting that they were owned by a breeder or hunter. They are not housetrained. They recognize the command "stay" if you are standing in front of them holding a leash. They spend a great deal of time playing with each other, wrestling and fake biting each other.
I adopted them and kept them for a month. I am 75 years old and didn't realize how much they needed in terms of attention and training. Weighing 23 and 18 pounds, I struggle to pick them up to put in the car. Walking them and stooping to clean up accidents has exhausted me. I live in a townhouse community, giving them a lot to see, causing much barking and howling, My neighbors are unhappy. I am reluctantly rehoming them to the rescue from which I adopted them.
