My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Daisy Duke!

This sensitive three year old female cat is looking for that purrfect person who will give her all the time and space she needs to feel comfortable and come out of her shell! Daisy Duke is a bit of a wallflower who prefers to watch the action from a distance rather that jumping right into the chaos.

Sensitive in nature, this lady will need a little bit more time and space than your average cat to acclimate to her forever home and forever people. However, once she does feel comfortable, she has the sweetest affectionate side that can capture anyone`s heart.

Daisy Duke may not mind some cat companions in her forever home, however due to her sensitive nature, we highly recommend slow introductions between Daisy Duke and her potential feline family members. A slow intro will help ensure that both Daisy and her new kitty siblings feel safe and comfortable adjusting to each other`s presence.

Looking for a sweet but shy cat to give a peaceful home to? Stop by and meet Daisy Duke today at the Humane Society of Summit County!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter

Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
