My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cocoa – A Sweet, Shy Soul Looking for Her Forever Home!

Coco is a sweetheart with a gentle spirit and a heart full of love just waiting to blossom. She may be a little timid at first — her past is a mystery, and she’s still learning that people are safe — but once she trusts you, Coco transforms into the most loyal and affectionate companion.

This quiet girl doesn’t bark and is already crate trained and well-behaved in the house. She doesn’t chew things up, though she does have an adorable habit of carrying shoes or other treasures around the house just for fun! Coco is about 95% potty trained and only has accidents when she’s feeling scared.

Coco enjoys playing, loves belly rubs, and is surprisingly great off-leash — she’ll happily trot back to you for more affection. She adores other dogs and is endlessly curious about the world around her, even watching frogs hop by with fascination.

Coco’s ideal home will be patient and gentle, she would thrive in a home with a fenced in backyard giving her time to explore her surroundings. She needs people that allow her time to build confidence and trust. In return, you’ll be rewarded with a devoted best friend and a loving companion who will always be by your side.

If you’re ready to open your heart to a shy but deeply loving dog, Coco is waiting to meet you. 💛

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Found an animal on our site and want to meet them or find out more about them? Fill out the adoption questionnaire located below and submit to us. Once we have reviewed/approved your application, we will provide you with the foster contact information so that you can find out more and arrange a “meet and greet”. All of our animals are located in foster homes throughout the Triangle area.

When going to a “meet and greet”, please make sure you take any family members and other pets (if at all possible) to observe their interactions. This can make introduction into the new home easier for the animals and for you.

The animal’s foster parent will ultimately make a recommendation to the organization regarding the permanent placement of the animal. Once an adoption decision has been made by both parties, we ask for an adoption fee to help us cover spay/neutering, shots, medical treatment, food and supplies – this amount only partially cover the cost of expenses and allows us to help as many animals as possible!

What if the adoption doesn’t work out? We have a lifetime return policy on our animals as we don’t want to see them turned back into a shelter.
